Greece Pavilion Hosting Key Tourism Partner in OTM 2018

Turkey, Greece and Thailand were the three biggest country pavilions that returned to OTM in 2018. The show hosted key tourism partner states from India and other countries.

The National Tourist Organisations (NTOs) of Palestine, Japan, New Zealand, Maldives, Russia, Tanzania, Bhutan, Korea, Egypt, Bangladesh, Nepal, Zagreb and Croatia exhibited with large country pavilions.

Exhibition Pavilions at OTM 2018Amongst the Indian states Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar, West Bengal, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh are also present with large state pavilions.

The leading tour operator in the country – Cox & Kings has signed up with OTM for the next three years, as the Knowledge Partner.

Global leader in hotel marketing technology – Google partnered to organise CMO workshops on the side-lines of OTM 2018.

The Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) showcased a mega publicity exercise at OTM for promoting North-Eastern destinations.

TravHQ in partnership with OTM organised Travel Technology Track, with sessions on innovative travel tech solutions, panel discussions with industry thought-leaders and digital skill development workshops.

Fuelling this growth, Mumbai serves as a gateway city to 60% of India’s outbound market, making it the largest hub of inbound and outbound, business, luxury, and MICE travel in India.

Annual travel trade shows are an important opportunity for both the travel trade buyer and exhibitor as they can have direct meetings and networking session.

Traditionally, visitors at these fairs walk the show and meet the sellers of their interest. But OTM this year offered the advent of online technologies to enable an easy-to-use online meeting diary to fix appointment between buyers and sellers.

ITB ASIA 2017 at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore





Singapore, 27 October 2017 – Greece, Japan, Russia and Korea put up impressive and engaging experiences at ITB Asia 2017

Invited as accredited Press member I am glad to share Post show highlights with my readers and followers.

Asia’s leading travel trade show, ITB Asia 2017 has completed its milestone anniversary event with record-breaking numbers. The tenth edition of ITB Asia came to a close today at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Marina Bay Sands in Singapore.

Over three days, the event hosted about 940 exhibitors from 113 countries, an 11% increase over the previous year. ITB Asia 2017 also welcomed its strongest ever buyer participation across the Corporate, MICE and Leisure sectors. Since 2014, ITB Asia has experienced a 1:1 ratio for exhibitors and buyers. This year, there were over 22,000 business appointments recorded during the show.

Exhibitors and Buyers at ITB Asia 2017ITB Asia 2017 reported a spectacular 77% growth from its inaugural edition, featuring new exhibitors such as the Rwanda Development Board, Tourism Tunisia, Promote Iceland, Tourism & Foreign Affairs Department of Almaty City, Republic of Kazakhstan, Jeju Convention and Visitor Bureau, amongst others.

Exhibitors also invested more in the quality of their booths, this year’s conference programme looked at the role of technology, setting the tone for the changes that the industry is likely to see in the next ten years.

Artificial Intelligence insights at ITB Asia 2017Speakers from big names IBM Asia Pacific and Google delivered insights on the potential of Artificial Intelligence, Ctrip presented its global strategy, while fast-growing start-ups Hiver lab, Zebra Design and Savioke shared on the exciting realities and opportunities for augmented reality and virtual reality in hospitality and tourism.

While we are very pleased with our achievements in terms of the quality and numbers, what brings us most satisfaction is bringing together all the different stakeholders across the industry to network and inspire each other. The relationships built and strengthened will continue to boost our efforts in making ITB Asia the region’s go-to event and a hub for unforgettable content and enriching experiences for many years to come”.

ITB Asia is glad to have a consistent support from the Singapore Tourism Board and the Singapore Exhibition Convention Bureau and shall continue to be associated with Singapore as its venue partner.

Following this year’s successful show, ITB Asia has received the highest exhibitor rebooking’s for ITB Asia 2018. As early as now, the surge in interest for next year’s show has been seen from destinations such as Greece, Middle East, Africa, Spain and the Scandinavian region as well as continued strong support from Asian markets such as Thailand and the Philippines.

Melia Hotels International and Global DMC Network by the JTB Group have also confirmed their stand bookings for the 2018 show.

ITB Asia 2018 will be held from 17-19 October 2018 at Sands Expo & Convention Centre, Marina Bay Sands.

Yacht Festival Cannes,Cote D’ Azur The Ultimate Rezendvous 2017




Mediterranean yachting, CannesCannes is native home to Mediterranean yachting and now one of the international centres of sailing.  It’s hub to over 2000 moorings for the smallest boats up to yachts measuring 145 meters. The town takes pride & joy in 100 companies linked to sailing.  Month of September also designated as “Month of Sea”; in Cannes is a perfect platform to showcase Cannes Yachting Festival.The Blue Flag label has been bestowed to 15 sites along the coast in year 2017. The port is Pierre Canto has an optimised water area, a new harbour master’s office and high end reception quay for engaging and alluring facilities.

From the most super stylish yachts to traditional pontoon and old sailing ships, the Cannes ports are the home of multi-coloured fleet reflecting the identity of a town that is proud of its history, open on the world and at the centre of a preserved site that is now a candidate for UNESCO World Heritage status.

The 40th edition of the Cannes Yachting Festival was held in September (from 12th to 17th September 2017) in an elegant, luxurious surroundings in the sparkling bay of Cannes.

For its fortieth anniversary, boating enthusiasts were laid a grand world premiere of boats in the Vieux Port and Port Pierre Canto, the novelties of French and international manufacturers.

The TOP 5 of the biggest motor boats were announced during the festival. More than 600 boats were showcased,  on 300,000 m² of exhibition space on land and 3 km of floating pontoons, including 110 sailboats of 10 to 25 meters, monohulls or multihulls.

One of the boating season’s most prestigious events, this Show is Europe’s leading in-water boating event. With over 51,000 visitors in 2016, the Cannes Yachting Festival hosted in Vieux Port and Port Pierre Canto, attracts luxury yacht and sail boat amateurs and seasoned enthusiasts alike. The show this season furnished the world of luxury homes, crafts & lifestyle which presented their savoir-faire and new products in the Luxury gallery.

Nautical Event Inaugration by Mayor David Lisnard at Cannes

The festival was inaugurated by David Lisnard and speaking on the occasion the mayor said “It is the most important nautical rendezvous in Europe and  world’s biggest events in the sector.” This show is a logistical feat but has above all a strategic dimension of importance for the City of Cannes.” It is one of the 15 major shows that Cannes welcomes, notably through its economic spin-offs. The industry must feel welcomed in Cannes, also within a chain of competencies, of excellence “.

EvenrThe show is an event owned by the French Nautical Industries Federation (FIN) and organised by Reed Expositions France (REF). It is part of the Luxury, Culture and Leisure Division, covering shows such as Nautica – Salon Nautique International de Paris, FIAC, Paris Photo, and the Salon Piscine & Bien-être show.

The festival had 8 major areas to display its majestic appeal and grandeur.

Luxury Gallery At Cannes Yachting Festival

  1. Following the success of the launch of La Terasse during last year’s show, the Cannes Yachting Festival this year unveiled the Luxury Gallery’ situated within the Palais De Festival which was dedicated to premium brands outside of yachting. The prestigious area was dedicated exclusively to luxury players in the sectors including: cars, private aviation, watchmaking, jewellery, gastronomy, spirits, fashion and accessories, household linen, decoration, furniture, design, art, high-tech products, services, etc. The area saw affluent visitors who came to experience the exceptional products, to showcase their know-how and new products.

Palais De Festival at Cannes

  1. Palais De Festival is the main entrance of the festival with inside area for boat builders, architects, broker & charter area, interior décor, furnishings and high end accessories while outdoor  areas was dedicated to Toy zone with spread of latest nautical toys. On the roof of the Palais is the panoramic restaurant whose menu is signed by the famous Maison Dalloyau.

  1. Jetee:On the southern part of the Jetée, exhibitors had displayed the smaller motorboats on the middle of the port and the tall ships moored at Quai Saint-Pierre on the other side of the harbour.

Biggest Yachts of the Vieux Port at Cannes

  1. The Super Yachts Extension showcased forty of the biggest yachts of the Vieux Port. This year, the largest boat on display in this area is the 48 m displacement signed Baglietto and the largest sailing yacht is the 2017 Extreme of the shipyard Mengy Yay. The part of the Super Yachts Extension located on the Traversante hosts the in-water sector of the Tender area.

  1. The Quai Max Laubeuf presented a variety of sailing boats and motorboats in-water as well as many small motor boats up to 12 metres exhibited on land. It also hosted the RIB Village with more than 50 inflatable dinghies and semi-rigid boats displayed in-water.

  2. The Pantiero had  – The Village dedicated to boating equipment and accessories – Service companies (insurance, financing, etc)

Multihulls Gathering at Cannes

  1. Multihulls: Built like a marina, the area dedicated to the Multihulls hosted around forty catamarans from 10 to more than 25 metres. This is the largest gathering of habitable multihulls in the world presented by leading French and international shipyards.

Some of the key figures from the 2017 edition of yacht festival are:

  • A launch pad for new models (191 worldwide debuts were done in 2017 as compared to 107 in 2016).
  • 80% of boats conducted sea trials.
  • The show offers cutting edge equipment and the latest innovation is the technology aided on solar energy.
  • 2 ports 10 km of boats 3 km of pontoons installed 4 through-ways: floating docks equipped with a motorised central section which closes to enable visitors to move freely around the port.


  • 528 exhibitors (60% from outside of France) 45% of exhibitors are boat manufacturers/importers 55% represent other business sectors (equipment manufacturers, brokers, service providers, etc.)
  • Exhibitors 600 boats from 2.10 to 65 metres 214 new boats and yachts showcased during the Cannes Yachting Festival, including 108 world premieres 45 second-hand boats ranging from 22 to 65 metres on display at Port Pierre Canto 148 yachts longer than 20 metres 103 sail boats (17%) 43 multihulls, including 10 motor yachts.

3rd Edition of Concours D Elegance

The 3rd Edition of Concours D Elegance was another focal point of the show. The event traditionally was held for cars. This is exclusively for modern and vintage day boats less than 12 meters. Every boat has a 1-4 person crew that includes at least 1 woman.

The jury comprised of professionals and enthusiasts, who marked each boat on the following criteria: the quality of the restoration design, the state of preservation history rarity of the model, the elegance of the crew, the quality of the parade.

Participants competed in two categories: Boats built before 1980 and Boats built after 1980.

Awards were categorised in 4 categories: Pre 1980 category Post 1980 category Women’s elegance award Jury’s choice.

The show was majestic and grand in its length and breadth. It concluded with major success and a new promising intiative to develop and expand Port Canto for accommodating more boats next season.
